St Lucia Airport Transfer, Pay on Arrival: How It Works

Booking a St Lucia airport transfer with us is pay on arrival. You reserve online in a couple of minutes and nothing is charged. When you land, your driver meets you in arrivals with a yellow TripCarib sign, takes you to your hotel or villa, and you pay in cash at the end of the ride. We email your invoice straight after. If your plans change, you can cancel free up to 24 hours before pickup.

Most transfer sites want your card details before you've packed. We'd rather you met us first. Here's how it works, start to finish.

How pay on arrival works

  1. Book online. Choose your route and enter your flight number. The price you see is the full price: no surcharges at the curb, no "service fee" at the end. Extra large suitcases (US$10 each beyond one per passenger) are added to the total automatically, so nothing surprises you.
  2. Get your confirmations. You'll receive a "booking received" email, then a "booking confirmed" email once we've assigned your driver.
  3. The day before, we'll send a reminder and may call you. Keep your phone on when you land so your driver can reach you.
  4. Walk out of arrivals. Look for the yellow TripCarib sign with your name. Your flight was tracked, and the driver waits up to 60 minutes after landing.
  5. Pay at the end of the ride, in cash, once you're at your hotel or villa.
  6. Get your invoice. As soon as we mark your payment received, an invoice is emailed to you.

Why we do it this way

Simple: you only pay for a ride that actually happened. No prepaying a stranger, no chasing refunds, no card fees, and no money tied up while your flight is still in the air.

Plenty of operators work the other way. One villa company's transfer listing we looked at takes the full amount when you book, keeps 20% as non-refundable, offers no refunds in the final 7 days and charges a $35 change fee. That's their right, but it's a lot to commit before you've seen a car.

Before trusting any operator, here's what to confirm before you book.

Paying: the practical bits

  • Currency: prices are in US dollars, and US dollars are what most visitors pay in. Our taxi rates guide explains how US and EC dollars work on the island.
  • Bring smaller notes. Change for a $100 bill isn't always available at 10pm.
  • Prefer a card? Just ask, and we'll send you a secure payment link instead.
  • Booked a round trip? You pay for both legs when you're dropped off after the first one. The round-trip saving is already in your total.
  • Tipping is appreciated, never expected.

What we ask in return

Because we don't take your money upfront, we rely on one thing: let us know if your plans change. You can cancel free up to 24 hours before pickup, and if your flight changes, just send us the new flight number. That's it. Our drivers keep the slot open for you, so a quick message means they can help someone else.

A guest like you

The fear behind this question is real. On TripAdvisor, one traveller who had prepaid a transfer and tour operator wrote that nobody came to pick them up, and they were "still waiting for a refund". That's the scenario pay on arrival removes. If something ever went wrong with your pickup, you wouldn't be out of pocket while you sort it. And when it goes right, which is the point, you hand over the fare at your hotel door, get your invoice by email, and start your holiday. Wondering how to judge any driver here? Quick answers

Do I pay anything when I book online? No. You book online and pay your driver after the ride.

What currency do I pay in? US dollars, in cash. Ask if you'd prefer a card payment link.

Do I get a receipt? Yes. An invoice is emailed to you once your payment is recorded.

What if my flight is cancelled or my plans change? Cancel free up to 24 hours before, or send us your new flight details.

Is the price on the website the final price? Yes. Any extra luggage is shown in the total before you book.
