If you're flying in from the US, UK, Canada, or Europe, you'll almost certainly land at Hewanorra, known by its code UVF. It sits in Vieux Fort at the very southern tip of the island and handles nearly all long-haul and international flights.
Because it's in the south and most resorts are in the north and west, your transfer here is a proper drive anywhere from about 45 minutes to Soufriere up to 90 minutes to the far north. That's not a bad thing: the drive is scenic, and with a comfortable private vehicle it's a relaxing introduction to the island. It's just good to know so you can set expectations (and manage tired little ones).
The island's second airport, George F. L. Charles (SLU), is a smaller airport right in Castries in the north. It handles regional and inter-island flights think Barbados, Antigua, Martinique, and other Caribbean hops.
If you land here and you're staying in the north, you're in luck: your transfer to Rodney Bay or Castries is a quick 10 to 20 minutes.
