UVF Airport to East Winds Private Transfer

East Winds sits on a small bay on the northwest coast between Castries and Rodney Bay, about 67 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 70 to 85 minutes. The fare is $110 for the whole vehicle rather than a charge per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

Your driver is inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name. He takes the luggage and you are on the road a few minutes after clearing customs, at the price you booked.

The drive from Hewanorra to the northwest coast

The road north runs up the Atlantic side. From Vieux Fort the Micoud Highway passes through Micoud and Dennery, climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge across the middle of the island, then drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries.

The drive passes through the city, so weekday rush hours, roughly 7am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm, are where any delay comes from, along with cruise ship days near the port. Once you are clear of Castries it is a short run north along the coast past Choc Bay.

The turning is off the coastal highway and the lane down to the bay is short and narrow. After that the arrival is straightforward. The property is small and sits at sea level in its gardens, so the driver pulls up at reception and you are done, with no internal shuttle and no hill to climb with your cases.

Around East Winds

This is a quiet corner of a busy coast. The property is low-rise, spread through gardens behind a small beach, and the appeal for most guests is that nothing much happens here. The birds in the gardens get more attention than the schedule.

That also means there is nothing within walking distance. Rodney Bay, with Reduit Beach, the restaurant strip, Baywalk Mall and the supermarkets, is ten to fifteen minutes north. Castries and the cruise terminals are around fifteen minutes south, and Pigeon Island National Landmark is roughly twenty minutes up the coast.

For anything further, this stretch of coast is a good starting point. Marigot Bay is about half an hour south, and Soufriere, the Pitons and Sulphur Springs are around an hour and a half away, close enough for a comfortable day out with a driver rather than a two hour haul from the top of the island.

How booking works

1. Pick this transfer, choose the pay-in-cash option, register and submit your details. The flight number field is optional at this stage.
2. You get a confirmation email straight away letting you know we have received the booking.
3. Someone goes through your details and confirms the booking, usually in under 30 minutes, and you get a confirmation email.
4. We assign your driver and ask for the flight number about 24 hours before travel if we do not have it. He meets you at arrivals holding your name, loads the luggage and drives you to the resort. Cash is handed over at the end, once you have arrived.

I am flying into SLU George Charles Airport. Can you collect me?

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $40 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Where exactly is the resort?

On the coast between Castries and Rodney Bay, off the coastal highway north of Choc Bay. It is a small bay rather than a resort strip, so it is easy to drive past if you do not know the turning.

Is the property flat?

Yes. The cottages are set through gardens at sea level, so there is no climb from reception and no internal shuttle, which is not the case at every hotel on this coast.

Can I walk to restaurants or shops?

No. Rodney Bay is ten to fifteen minutes north by road, and we can arrange evening runs if you want to eat out during your stay.

How far are the Pitons?

Around an hour and a half south. From this part of the coast a day trip to Soufriere is comfortable, and we can put a driver together for it.

What if my flight is delayed?

We track it and update your driver, who waits. No extra charge and the booking stands.

How do I pay?
