Ladera sits on the ridge between Gros Piton and Petit Piton, about 37 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), with a drive of 45 to 60 minutes. The fare is $94 and it buys the vehicle, not a seat, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.
Your driver is inside the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name when you come through customs. He takes the bags and you are on the road within a few minutes, at the price you were quoted online.
Nothing is charged online and no deposit is taken.
The drive from Hewanorra to Ladera
The road leaves Vieux Fort and heads west through Laborie and Choiseul, then turns north through the hills above the coast. It is sealed the whole way but it bends constantly, climbing and dropping through villages and banana fields, so a short distance still takes close to an hour. Rain can slow the middle section, and the last twenty minutes are the twistiest.
The turning for Ladera comes before Soufriere town, on the same stretch of road that serves the Val des Pitons. The difference is direction. Where the Sugar Beach entrance drops down into the valley, the Ladera driveway climbs, a short steep run up to reception around a thousand feet above the water. We send a vehicle suited to the gradient.
You come up out of the trees at the top and both Pitons are in front of you with the sea between them.
Around Ladera and Soufriere
You are on the ridge, not the coast, so the air is cooler and there is usually a breeze. There is no beach at the property itself. Guests use the shuttle down to the shoreline at Sugar Beach in the valley below, which takes a few minutes.
The Tet Paul Nature Trail is very close, a short walk with the best-known view of both Pitons for the effort involved. The Gros Piton trailhead at Fond Gens Libre is around fifteen minutes away and wants an early start before the heat. Sulphur Springs, the drive-in volcano, and Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens are both about ten to fifteen minutes north, and Soufriere town with its market and waterfront is roughly ten minutes down the hill.
Soufriere gets busy on Saturday mornings around the market and on days when cruise passengers come ashore, and tour vans converge on Sulphur Springs late morning. If you are heading out for the day, going early is the simplest fix.

Frequently asked questions
I am flying into SLU George Charles Airport. Can you collect me?
Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $120 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers. Select SLU under "Your airport" to see the price and book. Your driver tracks your flight and waits for you, with the same fixed price on the return trip.
Is there a beach at Ladera?
Not at the property. It is on the ridge above the Val des Pitons, and the resort runs a shuttle down to the beach in the valley.
How high up is it?
Roughly a thousand feet above the sea. Expect it to feel cooler and breezier than the coast, and expect cloud to drift across the ridge at times.
Can your vehicle manage the driveway?
Yes. The entrance is a short steep climb off the main road and we assign a vehicle for it.
How close is the Tet Paul trail?
Very close, a few minutes by road. It is the easiest way to get the two-Piton view without committing to the Gros Piton climb.
What if I arrive after dark?
That is fine. We track your flight and the driver waits. The ridge road is unlit, so the last part of the drive is slower, but it is a route our drivers run regularly.
How do I pay?
Cash to the driver when you reach the resort. Nothing is taken online and there is no deposit.
Can you book my return to the airport?
Yes, as a separate booking so the pickup time is recorded properly. Many guests add a Sulphur Springs stop on the way back to UVF.
Book your UVF to Ladera transfer now and we will confirm it by email once someone has checked your details.
