UVF Airport to Saba Villa Private Transfer

Saba Villa is in the Soufriere area on the southwest coast, about 36 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 45 to 60 minutes. The fare is $94 for the whole vehicle rather than per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

The drive from Hewanorra to Soufriere

The road leaves Vieux Fort heading west and follows the coast through Laborie and Choiseul before turning north into the hills. It is sealed the whole way, short in distance and slow in practice, because it bends and climbs almost continuously.

It is also the best looking hour on the island, passing fishing villages and banana fields with the sea below, the craft centre at Choiseul where the local wood carving and pottery is made, and the high ground where both Pitons appear above the bay.

If you would rather treat the transfer as the first part of the holiday than a shuttle, say so when you book. The driver can allow time for the viewpoint and a stop at the craft centre, which adds half an hour or so and turns the drive into something you remember rather than sit through. If you would sooner get there and unpack, that is fine too.

The last stretch is a hill road, narrow in places with tight bends. We send a vehicle suited to it and the driver takes you to the villa rather than the end of the lane.

Booking the return

Worth doing when you book the outbound. Soufriere is not a place where vehicles sit waiting for a fare, particularly at the hour you need for a midday flight, and villas in the hills are further still from anything passing.

Around Saba Villa

Soufriere town is a short drive, with the market, bank, pharmacy, restaurants and the jetty where water taxis run up the coast to Anse Chastanet and the bays under the Pitons.

Sulphur Springs, the drive-in volcano, is around fifteen minutes away, Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens sits beside the town, and the Tet Paul Nature Trail is a short run south. The Gros Piton trailhead at Fond Gens Libre is roughly twenty minutes off, and the nearest beaches are ten to fifteen minutes by road.

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $120 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Can we stop along the way?

Yes. The Piton viewpoint costs a few minutes, and the craft centre at Choiseul a little more. Mention it at booking so the time is allowed for rather than squeezed in.

Why book the return in advance?

Because you cannot reliably flag a vehicle in the hills above Soufriere, least of all early in the morning. Booking it with the outbound settles the one thing that tends to go wrong.

What is the final approach like?

Narrow and steep in places, like most roads on this side. Our drivers run them daily and we send a vehicle to suit.

How do we get to a beach?

Ten to fifteen minutes by road to Malgretoute or Anse Chastanet, or a water taxi from the Soufriere jetty, which is the better view.

What if my flight is delayed?
