Bay Gardens Marina Haven sits on the marina side of Rodney Bay, at the top of the island and about 75 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). Allow 80 to 95 minutes, which makes it one of the longest airport runs in St Lucia. The fare is $132 for the whole vehicle, not a price per seat, covering up to three passengers. The drive from Hewanorra to Rodney Bay Marina

The route north runs up the east side of the island. From Vieux Fort the Micoud Highway passes through Micoud and Dennery with the Atlantic alongside, then climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge that splits the island, and drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries.

From Castries it is the coastal highway north past Choc Bay and Bois d'Orange. This is the busiest road on the island, and it is where any delay comes from. Expect slower going into Castries between 7am and 9am, out of it between 4pm and 6pm, and on Friday evenings as traffic builds towards Gros Islet.

The last few minutes are the turn into Rodney Bay and the run round to the marina side, past the mall and the restaurant strip. Those roads are narrow with speed bumps, so the final stretch is slow by design. Your driver takes you to the property entrance rather than the main road.

Around Rodney Bay Marina

The bay is split by a lagoon, and which side you are on changes your week. Marina Haven is on the marina side, so the boatyard, chandlery, provisioning shops and the waterfront restaurants are on your doorstep, along with Baywalk Mall, supermarkets, pharmacies and ATMs.

Reduit Beach is on the other side of the lagoon. It is a short hop by road or the group's shuttle rather than a walk out of the door, which is the one thing guests are sometimes surprised by when they arrive.

This is a working marina. Charters and day sails leave from here, and it fills up in December when the transatlantic rally boats come in. Pigeon Island is about ten minutes north, Gros Islet village next door runs its street party on Fridays, and Castries is roughly twenty minutes back down the coast.

The north is flat and well roaded, so this is a sensible base for a rental car. We can deliver one to the property instead of you collecting at the airport.

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $40 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. No, it is on the marina side of the lagoon. Reduit Beach is a few minutes away by road or shuttle rather than a walk from reception.

Can you drop me at the marina docks instead?

Yes. If you are joining a boat, give us the dock or berth details when you book and the driver takes you there.

Why does this transfer take so long?

Rodney Bay is at the opposite end of the island from the airport, around 75 km, and the route crosses the central ridge before joining the busiest road in St Lucia.

Will traffic add to the journey?

It can around Castries at rush hour and near Gros Islet on Friday evenings. We plan the pickup around your landing time to avoid what we can.

Is there much within walking distance?

Yes. The marina restaurants, the mall and supermarkets are all close by, which is unusual for St Lucia and a good reason people choose this side.
