UVF Airport to Hamlet Suites Private Transfer

Hamlet Suites is in Rodney Bay, at the northern end of St Lucia and roughly 75 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 80 to 95 minutes. The fare is $132 for the whole vehicle rather than per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

Your driver is inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name, takes the luggage and has you on the road a few minutes after clearing customs. The rate is fixed when you book.

The drive from Hewanorra to Rodney Bay

The route north runs up the Atlantic side of the island. From Vieux Fort the Micoud Highway passes through Micoud and Dennery, climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge that splits St Lucia, then drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries. The coastal highway continues north past Choc Bay and Bois d'Orange to the Rodney Bay turn.

Castries is where delays happen, usually 7am to 9am inbound and 4pm to 6pm outbound, and the village itself slows in the early evening as the restaurants fill.

If you are in a self-catering suite, the supermarkets in Rodney Bay are minutes from the property and you pass them on the way in. Say so when you book and the driver will stop, which saves heading straight back out once you have dropped your bags.

Around Hamlet Suites

Rodney Bay is the most self-sufficient part of the island for a longer stay. Reduit Beach is a walk away, the restaurant strip is close, and Baywalk Mall, supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and ATMs are all within easy reach on foot.

For getting further afield without hiring a car, the route taxis are worth knowing about. These are the minibuses that run along the main road between Castries and Gros Islet through the day, stopping where passengers flag them down. They are cheap, used by everyone locally, and fine for a run into Castries or up to Gros Islet. They thin out in the evening, which is when a booked driver makes more sense.

Pigeon Island National Landmark is about ten minutes north by road, with the fort ruins and two calm beaches, and Gros Islet next door holds its street party on Friday nights. Soufriere and the Pitons are 90 minutes to two hours south, so treat that as a full day.

How booking works

1. Pick this transfer, choose the pay-in-cash option, register and submit your details. The flight number field is optional at this stage.
2. You get a confirmation email straight away letting you know we have received the booking.
3. Someone goes through your details and confirms the booking, usually in under 30 minutes, and you get a confirmation email.
4. We assign your driver and ask for the flight number about 24 hours before travel if we do not have it. He meets you at arrivals with your name on a sign, takes the bags and drives you north to the property. You pay in cash at that point, once the journey is done.

I am flying into SLU George Charles Airport. Can you collect me?

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $40 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers. Can we manage without a car during the stay?

Most guests here can. The beach, restaurants and supermarkets are walkable, route taxis run along the main road during the day, and we can cover evenings and day trips.

Can you stop for groceries on the way in?

Yes. The Rodney Bay supermarkets are on the route, so mention it at booking and the driver will allow the time.

How far is the beach on foot?

Reduit Beach is a short walk. It is the longest stretch of sand in the north and the reason this part of the island suits people staying a week or more.

Can you arrange trips while we are here?

Yes. Pigeon Island, a day south to the Pitons, or a boat trip from the marina are all easy to set up, and cheaper to plan in advance than on the day.

What if my flight is delayed?

We track it and update your driver, who waits. There is no extra charge and the booking stands.

How do I pay?
