UVF Airport to Sandals Grande St Lucian Private Transfer

Sandals Grande St Lucian is on the Pigeon Island causeway at Gros Islet, about 78 km north of Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), with a drive of 80 to 95 minutes. The fare is $132 for the whole vehicle, not per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

The drive from Hewanorra to Gros Islet

The route north runs up the Atlantic side of the island. From Vieux Fort the Micoud Highway passes through Micoud and Dennery, climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge across the middle of St Lucia, then drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries before continuing up the coast past Choc Bay and Bois d'Orange.

Past the Rodney Bay junction the road carries on through Gros Islet village to the causeway. Gros Islet is a village with narrow streets, so the last stretch is slow, and on Friday evenings the street party makes it slower still. Tell us if you are landing on a Friday afternoon and the driver will plan the approach around it.

The resort entrance has a gatehouse, so the drop-off is at the door after a short check at the barrier. If your package includes a group transfer, it will usually leave once other arriving guests have gathered. A private vehicle leaves when you do, which is the difference most people are buying here.

Around the causeway and Gros Islet

The resort sits on the neck of land that joins Pigeon Island to the mainland, so it has calm water on the Rodney Bay side and the open Atlantic on the other. The ocean side is noticeably breezier, which is worth knowing when you pick where to sit.

Pigeon Island National Landmark is right next door, close enough to walk to, with the fort ruins, the climb to the two peaks and two sheltered beaches. Gros Islet village is a couple of minutes away. Rodney Bay, with Reduit Beach, the restaurant strip, Baywalk Mall and the supermarkets, is roughly ten minutes south by road rather than on foot.

If you want to see the south of the island, Soufriere and the Pitons are around two hours away, so that is a full day out. We can put a driver together for it during your stay, which is often easier than arranging it once you have arrived.

4. We assign your driver and ask for the flight number about 24 hours before travel if we do not have it. He is at arrivals with your name on a sign, takes the bags and drives you north to the resort gate. The cash payment is made once you have arrived.

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $40 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Is Pigeon Island within reach?

Yes, it is next to the resort on the causeway and can be reached on foot, which is unusual for the north of the island.

How far is Rodney Bay?

About ten minutes by road. It is where the restaurants, shops and beach bars are, so plan on transport for evenings out.

Will Friday night in Gros Islet delay us?

It can. The village fills up on Friday evenings, so let us know your arrival time and the driver will allow for it.

What if my flight is delayed?

We track it and update the driver, who waits. There is no extra charge and your booking holds.
