UVF Airport to Bel Jou Hotel Private Transfer

Bel Jou sits on the Morne, the hillside above Castries, roughly 62 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 60 to 75 minutes. The fare is $110 for the whole vehicle rather than per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

The drive from Hewanorra to the Morne

The route north runs up the Atlantic side. From Vieux Fort the Micoud Highway passes through Micoud and Dennery, climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge across the middle of the island, then drops through the Cul de Sac valley towards Castries.

The last part is the climb. The Morne road turns up from the edge of the city and winds its way up the hillside in a series of bends, past the old barracks and the college, with the harbour opening up behind you as you gain height. It is a short section but a slow one, and it is why the hotel has the view it has.

Timing matters more on this stretch than most. The Morne road carries commuter and school traffic on weekday mornings, and Castries itself slows between 7am and 9am and again from 4pm to 6pm. We plan the pickup around your landing time so the climb is not done in the worst of it.

Around Bel Jou and Castries

You are above the capital rather than in it. Castries centre, the Central Market and Derek Walcott Square are five to ten minutes downhill, and the cruise terminals at Pointe Seraphine and La Place Carenage are around ten minutes, which makes this a practical base if you are joining or leaving a ship.

The Morne itself has the historic sites, Fort Charlotte and the Inniskilling Monument among them, and the view over the harbour is the reason most guests are here.

There is no beach at the hotel. Vigie Beach is roughly ten minutes down, Choc Bay a little further north, and George F. L. Charles Airport at Vigie is about fifteen minutes if you are connecting on a regional flight. Walking down into town is possible but the return is a steep climb in the heat, so plan on transport, which we can arrange during your stay.

Marigot Bay is about twenty five minutes south and Soufriere around an hour and a quarter, so the south of the island is a comfortable day out from here.

Yes. The terminals are about ten minutes away, which makes it a sensible overnight stop before boarding or after disembarking.
