Calabash Cove sits on a small bay on the northwest coast, between Choc Bay and Rodney Bay, roughly 72 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 80 to 95 minutes. The fare is $132 for the whole vehicle rather than per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name, takes the luggage and has you on the road a few minutes after customs. The rate is fixed when you book.

The drive from Hewanorra to the cove

The route north runs up the Atlantic side of the island. From Vieux Fort the Micoud Highway passes through Micoud and Dennery, climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge across the middle of St Lucia, then drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries.

The drive goes through the city, so weekday rush hours, roughly 7am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm, are where time can be lost, along with cruise ship days near the port. From Castries it is a short run north along the coast past Choc Bay.

The turning is a small one off the coastal highway, easy to drive past if you do not know it is there, and the lane drops down towards the water. The property is built into the hillside above its own cove, so the road in ends at reception and the accommodation runs down the slope below. If steps are difficult for anyone in your group, that is worth raising with the hotel when you confirm your room rather than on arrival.

Around Calabash Cove

This is a quiet corner of a busy coast. The cove is small and private, and there is nothing within walking distance, which is the trade for the seclusion.

What makes the position work is how close the north is. Rodney Bay, with Reduit Beach, the restaurant strip, Baywalk Mall and the supermarkets, is about ten minutes up the road, so an evening out is a short run rather than an expedition. Castries and the cruise terminals are roughly fifteen minutes south, and Pigeon Island National Landmark is around twenty minutes north.

Being this far down the coast also shortens the south. Marigot Bay is about half an hour away and Soufriere, the Pitons and Sulphur Springs are an hour and a half, which makes a day trip comfortable rather than punishing. Most guests here book a driver for that day instead of driving it themselves.

3. Someone goes through your details and confirms the booking, usually in under 30 minutes, and you get a confirmation email.
4. We assign your driver and ask for the flight number about 24 hours before travel if we do not have it. He meets you at arrivals with your name on a sign, takes the bags and drives you to the resort entrance, where the cash payment is made at the end.

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $40 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. About ten minutes north by road. Close enough for dinner and shopping, far enough that you do not hear any of it from the cove.

Yes. It is a small bay with the resort built above it and nothing else around, which suits guests who want calm rather than a resort strip.

Will the driver find the turning?

Yes. It is a small entrance off the coastal highway that is easy to miss if you do not know it, which is one of the arguments for a driver who runs this coast daily.

Do we need a rental car?

Not necessarily. Nothing is walkable, but Rodney Bay is close and most guests here prefer to book runs as they need them. We can arrange either.

What if my flight is delayed?
