UVF Airport to Cayman Villa Private Transfer

Cayman Villa is in the north of St Lucia, roughly 75 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 80 to 95 minutes. The fare is $132 for the whole vehicle rather than per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

Your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name, takes the luggage and has you on the road minutes after customs. The rate is fixed when you book.

The drive from Hewanorra to the north

The route runs up the Atlantic side of the island. From Vieux Fort the Micoud Highway passes through Micoud and Dennery, climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge that splits St Lucia, then drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries. The coastal highway then continues north past Choc Bay and Bois d'Orange.

Castries is where time is lost on weekdays, 7am to 9am inbound and 4pm to 6pm outbound, and Rodney Bay slows in the early evening.

The beaches of the north, and which is which

Staying in a villa means choosing a beach each day rather than walking onto the one outside your hotel. They are not interchangeable.

Reduit is the big one at Rodney Bay, long, calm and the busiest, with bars, loungers, water sports and somewhere to eat. It suits a family day with everything on hand.

Pigeon Island has two small sheltered coves inside the national landmark, quieter than Reduit, with the fort ruins and the walk up to the peaks if you want more than the sand. There is a modest entry fee to the park.

Choc Bay, south towards Castries, is long and calm and used mainly by locals. Quiet on weekdays, sociable on Sunday afternoons.

Cas en Bas, over on the Atlantic side, is the opposite. Wind, waves and a rough track down to it, which is why it is the spot for kite surfing and horse riding rather than lazy swimming.

Then there are the small coves between Castries and Rodney Bay, Labrelotte among them, tucked below the hotels and usually empty on a weekday. All beaches here are public to the high water mark, so you can use them even where a resort sits behind.

Around Cayman Villa

Rodney Bay is the hub for restaurants, Baywalk Mall, supermarkets and pharmacies, ten to fifteen minutes away. Gros Islet holds its street party on Friday nights, Castries and the cruise terminals are around twenty five minutes south, and Soufriere and the Pitons 90 minutes to two hours, so plan a full day for them.

Can we swim at Cas en Bas?

It is windy and choppy, which is the appeal for kite surfers and riders rather than swimmers. The track down is rough, so go with an operator or ask us to run you.

Is there a charge for Pigeon Island?

Yes, a modest entry fee for the national landmark, which covers the beaches, the ruins and the walk up.

Can you take us beach hopping?

Yes. A half day covering two or three beaches works well from the north, and we can collect you afterwards rather than leaving you to find a ride.

What if my flight is delayed?
