UVF Airport to Royalton Saint Lucia Private Transfer

Royalton Saint Lucia is at Smugglers Cove in Cap Estate, at the northern tip of the island and about 80 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 80 to 95 minutes. The fare is $132 and it covers the vehicle rather than each seat, for up to three passengers, with each additional passenger at $25 up to a maximum of eight.

Your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name, takes the luggage and has you on the road a few minutes after customs. The rate is agreed at booking.

The drive from Hewanorra to Smugglers Cove

The road north leaves Vieux Fort on the Micoud Highway and runs up the Atlantic side through Micoud and Dennery, then climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge that divides the island, and drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries. From there the coastal highway continues north past Choc Bay and Bois d'Orange to Rodney Bay.

The resort is not in Rodney Bay. The road carries on through Gros Islet and up into Cap Estate, then turns down Smugglers Cove Drive, a steep residential descent with speed bumps that ends at the cove. That final section adds roughly fifteen minutes to a Rodney Bay run, and there is a gatehouse at the entrance, so the last few minutes involve a short check at the barrier before the driver takes you to reception.

Worth mentioning at booking: Royalton and the adults-only Hideaway share the same site and approach but check guests in separately. Tell us which one you are booked into and the driver takes you to the right desk.

Traffic is mainly a Castries issue, between 7am and 9am inbound and 4pm and 6pm outbound, with Gros Islet slow on Friday evenings.

Around Cap Estate

Smugglers Cove is an enclosed bay with steep hillsides on both sides, which is why it feels private and why there is nowhere to walk to. Cap Estate is residential and spread out, the roads are unlit at night, and there is no restaurant strip nearby, so anything off the property needs transport.

Pigeon Island National Landmark is around ten minutes away, with the fort ruins, the walk up to the peaks and two calm beaches. Gros Islet village is about the same, and Rodney Bay, with Reduit Beach, the restaurants and Baywalk Mall, is fifteen to twenty minutes south.

Soufriere and the Pitons are at the far end of the island, roughly two hours each way. That is a full day rather than a morning, and most guests book a driver for it rather than drive it themselves.

4. We assign your driver and ask for the flight number about 24 hours before travel if we do not have it. He meets you at arrivals holding your name, loads the bags and drives you north to the resort, and you pay in cash once you have arrived.

Frequently asked questions

I am flying into SLU George Charles Airport. Can you collect me?

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $40 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers. Royalton or Hideaway, does it matter which I name?

Yes. They share the site and the entrance but have separate check-in, so naming yours saves you being dropped at the wrong desk with your luggage.

Is the resort in Rodney Bay?

No, it is at Cap Estate, about fifteen minutes further north. Rodney Bay is where you go for restaurants and shops.

Can I walk out of the resort?

Not usefully. The cove is enclosed by hills and Cap Estate is residential with unlit roads, so plan on transport for anything off site.

Can you arrange trips during our stay?

Yes. Day trips south to the Pitons and Sulphur Springs, or shorter runs to Pigeon Island and Rodney Bay, are straightforward to set up alongside your transfer.

What happens if my flight is late?

We follow it and update the driver, who waits. No extra charge, and the booking stands.

How do I pay?
