UVF Airport to Downtown Hotel Private Transfer

Downtown Hotel is in the centre of Soufriere, about 35 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), and the drive takes 45 to 60 minutes. The fare is $94 for the whole vehicle rather than per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

Your driver is inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name, takes the luggage and has you on the road minutes after customs. The rate is fixed when you book.

The drive from Hewanorra to Soufriere

The road runs west out of Vieux Fort through Laborie and Choiseul, then north into the hills above the coast. It is sealed the whole way and the shortest of the main airport routes by distance, but it bends and climbs almost continuously, so allow the full hour.

The Pitons appear above the bay as the road crosses the high ground, and there is a safe place to stop for a photograph before the descent.

The last part is the town itself. Soufriere was laid out long before tourism, so the streets are narrow and several run one way. Your driver will bring you to the hotel door where the street allows it, and stop at the nearest corner where it does not. That is normal here rather than a sign anything has gone wrong. The centre is busiest on Saturday mornings around the market and on days when cruise passengers come ashore by tender.

Around Downtown Hotel

Staying in the town rather than on a hillside changes the trip. The market, the waterfront, the bank, the pharmacy and the local restaurants are all on foot, and so is the jetty.

That jetty is the useful part. Water taxis run from it along the coast, which is how a lot of guests reach Anse Chastanet and the beaches below the Pitons without a road journey. It is quicker than driving and the view from the water is the one people remember.

The rest needs wheels. Sulphur Springs, the drive-in volcano, is about ten minutes out of town, Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens sits just beside it, the Tet Paul Nature Trail is a short drive south, and the Gros Piton trailhead at Fond Gens Libre is roughly twenty minutes away.

One honest note. A working town wakes up early. Boats go out, the market sets up and traffic starts well before most holidaymakers do. If you want silence until nine, the hillside properties suit better. If you want to be in the middle of a real place, this is the spot.

4. We assign your driver and ask for the flight number about 24 hours before travel if we do not have it. He meets you at arrivals with your name on a sign, takes the bags and drives you into Soufriere. You pay in cash once you are at the hotel.

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $120 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Take a water taxi from the jetty. It runs along the coast to Anse Chastanet and the bays below the Pitons, and it is faster and better looking than the road.

Can we walk to the sights?

Around the town, yes, including the market and waterfront. Sulphur Springs and Diamond Falls are a short drive rather than a walk.

Is it noisy in the morning?

The town starts early, with boats, the market and traffic. It is part of staying in the centre rather than above it.

Should we hire a car?

Not for the town itself. Streets are narrow, parking is limited, and most guests find a driver for excursions easier than parking in Soufriere every day.

What if my flight is delayed?
