Sandals Regency La Toc sits on the headland just south of Castries, about 62 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), with a drive of 60 to 75 minutes. The drive from Hewanorra to La Toc

The route runs north up the Atlantic side of the island. From Vieux Fort the Micoud Highway passes through Micoud and Dennery, climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge across the middle of St Lucia, then drops through the Cul de Sac valley towards Castries.

Here is the useful part. La Toc is south of the city, so the turning comes before you reach the centre. That means the drive largely misses the Castries congestion that adds time to every northern transfer, and it is the main reason this run is shorter and cheaper than one to Rodney Bay or Cap Estate.

The final approach climbs over the headland and then descends through the resort grounds, which are extensive and run down the hillside to the beach. There is a gatehouse at the entrance, so expect a brief stop at the barrier before your driver takes you to reception.

Around La Toc

You are close to the capital without being in it. Castries and the cruise terminals at Pointe Seraphine and La Place Carenage are five to ten minutes away, the Central Market is in the same direction, and Morne Fortune sits above with the view over the harbour and the old barracks.

George F. L. Charles Airport at Vigie is around fifteen minutes north, which matters if you are connecting to another island rather than flying home from UVF.

The position also makes the south of the island practical. Marigot Bay is roughly twenty minutes down the coast, and Soufriere, the Pitons and Sulphur Springs are about an hour and fifteen minutes away, so a day trip from here is a genuine outing rather than four hours in the car. Rodney Bay and the northern restaurants are twenty five to thirty minutes north.

Rarely on the way in, since the turning is before the centre. Morning departures back to the airport are a different matter, and we allow for that when you book the return.

Can I do the Pitons as a day trip?

Yes. Soufriere is about an hour and fifteen minutes south, which is far more comfortable from here than from the north end of the island.

I have a connecting flight from Vigie. Can you help?
