UVF Airport to Marigot Bay Private Transfer

Marigot Bay is on the central west coast, roughly 55 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), and the drive takes 55 to 65 minutes. The fare is $110. That is the price of the whole vehicle rather than a price per head, and it covers up to three passengers, with each additional passenger at $25 up to a maximum of eight.

Your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name, takes the luggage and has you on the road a few minutes after customs. The fare is agreed when you book, so there is nothing to settle at the airport.

The drive from Hewanorra to Marigot Bay

The fastest way to Marigot is up the east side of the island. The road leaves Vieux Fort on the Micoud Highway and runs through Micoud and Dennery, then climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge across the middle of the island, and drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries.

From there it is about twenty minutes south on the west coast road. Traffic through Castries is the only thing that reliably adds time, usually between 7am and 9am and again between 4pm and 6pm on weekdays. We plan the pickup around your flight so those windows do not catch you out.

The turn into Marigot is easy to miss and the road down to the water is steep and narrow, with tight bends and little room to pass. It is a short descent, and we send a vehicle sized for it.

Around Marigot Bay

The bay is a deep, sheltered inlet with hills on both sides, long used as a hurricane hole by sailors, and it is still a marina rather than a beach strip. Waterfront restaurants, shops and charter boats sit on the north side, with hillside villas looking down over the water.

The one thing worth knowing before you arrive is the layout. The bay splits into two sides and the small beach sits on the spit opposite the marina, reached by a little ferry that runs back and forth across the water in about a minute. If your property is on that side, we drop you at the pier and you cross with your bags, which takes very little time once you know it is coming.

Anse La Raye is ten minutes south, Castries about twenty minutes north, and Soufriere and the Pitons around 45 minutes down the coast, which makes this a reasonable base if you want the south without staying in it.

I am flying into SLU George Charles Airport. Can you collect me?

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $55 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers. My hotel is on the other side of the bay. How does that work?

We drop you at the pier and you take the short ferry across, which runs continuously. Tell us the property name when you book so the driver takes you to the right side.

How steep is the road into Marigot Bay?

Steep and narrow for the last stretch, with tight bends. It is a normal run for our drivers and takes only a few minutes.

How far is Marigot Bay from the Pitons?

About 45 minutes south to Soufriere. It is comfortable as a day trip, which is why some guests base themselves here rather than in the south.

Will Castries traffic delay me?

It can at rush hour. We watch your flight and set the pickup so the drive avoids the worst of it where possible.

How do I pay?

Can you book my return to the airport?
