UVF Airport to Rodney Bay Private Transfer

Rodney Bay is at the far north of the island, about 75 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). It is the longest airport transfer in St Lucia, roughly 80 to 95 minutes door to door. The fare is $132 for the whole vehicle, not per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

Your driver is inside the arrivals hall when you clear customs, holding a sign with your name. He takes the bags and you are on the road within minutes, price already settled.

Nothing is charged online and there is no deposit. You pay the driver in cash when you arrive.

The drive from Hewanorra to Rodney Bay

The quickest way north is the east coast. The road leaves Vieux Fort on the Micoud Highway and runs through Micoud and Dennery with the Atlantic alongside, then climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge across the middle of the island, and drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries.

From Castries it is the coastal highway north past Choc Bay and Bois d'Orange into Rodney Bay. That last section is the busiest road on the island. Expect it to slow between 7am and 9am heading into Castries, between 4pm and 6pm heading out, and on Friday evenings as traffic builds towards Gros Islet.

It is a long ride after a long flight, so the vehicle is air conditioned, there is water on board, and the driver will stop if you need to break the journey.

Around Rodney Bay

Rodney Bay is the busiest part of St Lucia for eating out and shopping. Reduit Beach is the main stretch of sand, the marina sits behind it, and Baywalk Mall, supermarkets, pharmacies and ATMs are all within a few minutes of most hotels. This is the one area where you can walk to dinner.

Pigeon Island National Landmark is about ten minutes north, with the fort ruins and two small beaches. Gros Islet village next door runs its street party on Friday nights. Cap Estate, at the top of the island, is quieter and more spread out.

The thing to know before you book is distance. Rodney Bay is a long way from the Pitons. Soufriere is 90 minutes to two hours south, so if your plan is Sulphur Springs and the Pitons, budget a full day or split your stay between north and south.

Because the north is flat and well served by roads, this is the route where a rental car makes most sense. We can deliver one to your hotel rather than have you drive it up from the airport on arrival day.

4. We assign your driver and follow up about 24 hours before travel if we do not have your flight number. On the day we track your flight, update the driver, and you will see him waiting with a sign on that day.

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $40 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Can we stop on the way?

Yes. Ask your driver. A supermarket or ATM stop in Rodney Bay is easy to fit in if you are heading to a villa or self catering apartment.

How far is Rodney Bay from the Pitons?

Around 90 minutes to two hours each way. It is a full day trip from the north, which is worth knowing when you plan your excursions.

I am landing late at night. Is that a problem?

No. We cover late arrivals and the driver waits whatever the hour. The road north is well used and you are dropped at your door.

How do I pay?

Can you book my return to the airport?

Yes, as a separate booking so the pickup address and time are recorded properly. For morning flights out of UVF we will suggest a pickup time that allows for Castries traffic.
