The Great House of Marigot Bay sits above the bay on the central west coast, roughly 55 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 55 to 65 minutes. The fare is $110 for the whole vehicle rather than per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.
Your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name, takes the luggage and has you on the road minutes after customs. The rate is fixed when you book.
Nothing is charged online and there is no deposit.
The drive from Hewanorra to Marigot Bay
The quickest route north runs up the Atlantic side. From Vieux Fort the Micoud Highway passes through Micoud and Dennery, climbs into rainforest at Barre de l'Isle, the ridge across the middle of the island, then drops through the Cul de Sac valley into Castries. From there it is about twenty minutes south along the west coast.
Castries is the usual hold-up, mainly 7am to 9am inbound and 4pm to 6pm outbound on weekdays.
The turn into Marigot is easy to miss and the descent is steep and narrow. A house of this size usually means a group, so send us the arrivals as a list with flight numbers. One vehicle carries up to eight with luggage, a larger party travels in two, and each is charged as its own fare.
Arriving for a boat
Marigot is one of the island's charter bases, and a fair number of guests here are either joining a boat or taking a day out on one, so the timing works differently from a hotel check-in.
Charter boarding is usually mid afternoon rather than on arrival, which leaves a gap after an early landing. That gap is easier filled than endured. The driver can take you to lunch on the waterfront, stop at the marina shops or a supermarket in Castries for provisioning on the way through, and get you to the dock for your boarding slot.
Tell us at booking whether you are heading for a berth or a villa, and give us the boarding time if you have it. We plan the run around that rather than around the landing.
Around the bay
Marigot is a deep, sheltered inlet with hills on both sides, long used by sailors as a hurricane hole. Restaurants and charter boats line the north side, the small beach sits on the spit opposite, and a little ferry crosses between the two in about a minute.
Anse La Raye is ten minutes south with its Friday fish fry, Castries twenty minutes north, and Soufriere and the Pitons about 45 minutes down the coast, or a better trip by water from the bay itself.

Frequently asked questions
I am flying into SLU George Charles Airport. Can you collect me?
Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $55 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers. Select SLU under "Your airport" to see the price and book. Your driver tracks your flight and waits for you, with the same fixed price on the return trip.
We are joining a boat. Can you time it to boarding?
Yes. Give us the boarding time and we plan the run around it, including a stop for lunch or provisioning if you land early.
Where do we provision?
The marina shops cover basics and the Castries supermarkets, twenty minutes back up the road, cover everything else. Ask at booking and the driver will stop as you pass.
Our group is arriving on several flights. How does that work?
Send the list with flight numbers. Each transfer is booked separately but kept together under one contact, so nobody is stranded in arrivals.
How do we get to the beach?
The ferry across the bay takes about a minute. Larger beaches are a short drive north or south.
What if my flight is delayed?
We track it and update your driver, who waits. No extra charge and the booking stands.
How do I pay?
Cash to the driver on arrival. Nothing is taken online and there is no deposit.
