Green Fig sits in the hills above Soufriere, roughly 37 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), with a drive of 45 to 60 minutes. The fare is $94 for the whole vehicle rather than a price per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

Your driver is inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name. He takes the luggage and you are on the road a few minutes after clearing customs, at the rate you booked.

The drive from Hewanorra to Green Fig

The road leaves Vieux Fort heading west, runs along the coast through Laborie and Choiseul, then turns north and climbs into the hills. It is sealed the whole way, but it bends and rises constantly through villages and banana fields, so the drive takes close to an hour despite the short distance.

The Pitons come into view as the road crosses the high ground above the bay, and there is a safe place to stop for a photograph.

The turning for the property is above Soufriere, and the last stretch is a narrow hill lane with passing places rather than room for two vehicles side by side. If something is coming down, one of you reverses to the nearest gap. It adds a couple of minutes at most, and it is the reason we send a vehicle sized for the road rather than the largest one available.

This is a small property, so it is worth sending the hotel your arrival window as well as booking the transfer. A handful of rooms means a small team, and they like to know when to expect you, particularly for an evening landing.

Around Green Fig

The setting is quiet and the views run out towards the Pitons. There is no beach at the property and limited choice within walking distance, so evenings and beach days both mean a short drive.

Soufriere town is around ten minutes down the hill, with the market, bank, pharmacy, local restaurants and the jetty for water taxis. Sulphur Springs, the drive-in volcano, is roughly fifteen minutes away, Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens is beside the town, and the Tet Paul Nature Trail is a short run south for the classic two-Piton view. Malgretoute and Anse Chastanet are the nearest beaches, both about ten to fifteen minutes off.

Soufriere is busiest on Saturday mornings around the market and on days when cruise passengers come ashore, so an early start suits any plan that involves the town.

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $120 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Should I tell the hotel what time I land?

Yes. It is a small place, and giving them an arrival window along with your transfer booking makes a late check-in much smoother.

What is the road up like?

Narrow near the top, with passing places rather than two full lanes. Our drivers run it regularly and it only adds a minute or two.

Is there a beach?

Not at the property. Malgretoute and Anse Chastanet are ten to fifteen minutes away, and we can arrange the runs down and back.

Are there restaurants nearby?

Not within walking distance. Soufriere is about ten minutes down the hill, and evening transport is easier booked ahead than found on the night.

What if my flight is delayed?

We track it and update your driver, who waits. There is no extra charge and your booking stands.
