Anse Chastanet is on its own bay just north of Soufriere, and the run there from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) takes about 45 to 60 minutes. The fare is $94. That is the price of the vehicle, not a price per head, and it covers up to three passengers. Each additional passenger is $25, up to eight. You see the figure before you book and it stays the same whether you land at noon or near midnight.
Your driver is inside the arrivals hall when you come through customs, holding a sign with your name on it. He takes the luggage and you are moving within minutes. Nothing to find, nobody to haggle with, no shared van waiting to fill up.
No online payment, no deposit. You pay the driver in cash on arrival.
The drive from Hewanorra to Anse Chastanet
The route runs out of Vieux Fort and up the south and west coast through Laborie, Choiseul and Canaries. It is sealed road the whole way, but it climbs, drops and bends through fishing villages, banana fields and forest with almost no straight sections. The distance is short. The time is not. If somebody told you it is a thirty minute drive, they have not done it.
The part guests talk about afterwards is the ridge above Soufriere. The Pitons come into view on the right with no build-up at all, and most people ask to stop. That is fine, there is a safe place to pull in. After that it is a short drop through Soufriere town and onto the resort access road, around a mile of steep unpaved track with tight bends. We put you in a vehicle that takes it in its stride.
If you are arriving after dark, the coast road has long unlit stretches and the access road has none at all. That is the night a driver who knows each turn earns his fare.
Around Anse Chastanet and Soufriere
The property runs across two beaches, Anse Chastanet and the quieter Anse Mamin beside it, with the dive shop on the sand and Jade Mountain on the hillside above. Jade Mountain guests take the same drive and the same drop-off.
Soufriere town is roughly ten minutes away and has the bank, pharmacy, market and a few local restaurants. The questions we get asked most are about Sulphur Springs, the drive-in volcano just outside town, Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens, and the Tet Paul Nature Trail, which gives you the view of both Pitons without committing to the Gros Piton climb.
Most people staying here do not need a rental car. The access road is hard work and parking is tight, so a driver for a day usually makes more sense. If you do want one, we deliver it to the resort rather than have you drive it in on day one.

How booking works
- Pick this transfer, choose the pay-in-cash option, register and submit your details. The flight number field is optional.
- We check the booking ourselves and confirm it by email. It is not an instant voucher, so give us a little time to reply.
- We assign your driver, and ask for the flight number about 24 hours before travel if we do not have it.
- On the day we follow your flight and update the driver. You pay him in cash.
That confirmation email is written by someone who has read your booking. On this route it makes a difference. An automated system will not spot that you are landing at 9pm with two small children and a mile of unpaved road still to come. A person does, and sends the right vehicle.
Frequently asked questions
I am flying into SLU George Charles Airport. Can you collect me?
Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $120 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers. Select SLU under "Your airport" to see the price and book. Your driver tracks your flight and waits for you, with the same fixed price on the return trip.
How long is the drive from UVF to Anse Chastanet?
About 45 to 60 minutes in ordinary conditions. Heavy rain or a slow truck on the coast road can add to it, so we quote a range rather than a number we cannot hold to.
Can your vehicle get up the resort access road?
Yes. The last mile is steep, unpaved and rough, and we assign a vehicle for it. Ask any company you book with, because not every taxi will drive it.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We watch the flight and update your driver. He waits. No extra charge, and the booking stands.
Would Castries airport be closer?
George F. L. Charles in Castries is nearer, but nearly all international flights land at Hewanorra. Book UVF unless your ticket says otherwise.
How do I pay?
Cash to the driver on the day. Nothing is taken online, no deposit.
Can you handle the return to the airport?
Yes. Book the return leg as a separate transfer so the pickup details are recorded properly. Plenty of guests turn it into a Sulphur Springs and Diamond Falls half day on the way out.
Book your UVF to Anse Chastanet transfer now and we will confirm it by email with your driver assigned.
