Type Airport Transfers

Group Size Up to 8 passengers
Sapphire Apartments is in the Soufriere area on the southwest coast, about 36 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 45 to 60 minutes. The fare is $94 for the whole vehicle rather than per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.
Your driver is inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name, takes the luggage and has you on the road minutes after customs. The rate is fixed when you book.
Nothing is charged online and there is no deposit.
The drive from Hewanorra to Soufriere
The road runs west out of Vieux Fort through Laborie and Choiseul, then north into the hills above the coast. It is sealed the whole way and short in distance, but it bends and climbs almost continuously, so allow the full hour.
The Pitons come into view as the road crosses the high ground above the bay, and there is a safe place to stop for a photograph before the descent.
For an apartment rather than a hotel, send us the block or unit number along with the property name, and a contact for whoever hands over the keys. There is no front desk to ask at, and Soufriere addresses are not always what a mapping app thinks they are, so those two details save everyone time on the day.
Self catering in Soufriere
If you are cooking for yourself, the town works differently from a resort area and it is worth knowing how before you arrive.
The supermarkets in Vieux Fort, minutes from the airport, are the biggest in the south. Stopping there at the start of the drive means you arrive stocked. Tell us at booking and the driver builds in the time.
After that, Soufriere itself is better for the fresh side of the shop. The market runs through the week and is busiest on Saturday mornings, and fish comes in at the waterfront early in the day, which is when to go rather than mid afternoon. Small shops in town cover the basics.
Dinner needs a little planning too. Kitchens in town generally close earlier than resort restaurants, so check times and book a table rather than wandering out at nine expecting to be fed.
Around Sapphire Apartments
Soufriere town has the market, bank, pharmacy, local restaurants and the jetty where water taxis run along the coast to Anse Chastanet and the bays beneath the Pitons.
Sulphur Springs, the drive-in volcano, is about ten to fifteen minutes away, Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens is beside the town, the Tet Paul Nature Trail is a short run south, and the Gros Piton trailhead at Fond Gens Libre is roughly twenty minutes off. The nearest beaches are Malgretoute and Anse Chastanet.

Frequently asked questions
I am flying into SLU George Charles Airport. Can you collect me?
Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $120 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers. Select SLU under "Your airport" to see the price and book. Your driver tracks your flight and waits for you, with the same fixed price on the return trip.
Where is the best place to buy food?
Vieux Fort for the main shop, since the supermarkets there are the largest in the south and you pass them at the start of the drive. Soufriere market for produce and fish, best early in the day.
Do restaurants in town stay open late?
Generally not as late as resort dining. Check opening times and book ahead rather than heading out late and hoping.
What address details do you need?
The property name plus the block or unit number, and a contact for the key handover. Apartments have no front desk to ask at.
Can you collect us for dinner or a trip?
Yes. Evening runs into town and half day excursions to Sulphur Springs and Diamond Falls are easy to arrange in advance.
What if my flight is delayed?
We track it and update your driver, who waits. No extra charge and the booking stands.
How do I pay?
Cash to the driver on arrival. Nothing is taken online and there is no deposit.
