UVF Airport to Stonefield Villa Resort Private Transfer

Stonefield sits on the hillside just south of Soufriere, facing Petit Piton across the water, about 36 km from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). The drive takes 45 to 60 minutes. The fare is $94 for the vehicle rather than per person, covering up to three passengers. Families of up to 5 (up to 3 adults and 2 children) add $25 per extra person, while groups of 4 or more adults, 3 or more children, or 6 or more people are charged our group rate, shown when you choose your passengers.

Your driver is inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name when you come through customs. He takes the bags and you are on the road a few minutes later, at the price you saw when you booked.

There is no online payment and no deposit.

The drive from Hewanorra to Stonefield

The road runs west out of Vieux Fort through Laborie and Choiseul, then turns north into the hills above the coast. It is sealed throughout, but it bends and climbs almost the whole way, so 36 km takes close to an hour rather than the half hour the map suggests.

The section guests notice is the last fifteen minutes, when the road comes over the high ground and the Pitons appear above the bay. There is a safe pull-in if you want a photo before you get to the property.

The turning for Stonefield comes just before Soufriere town, and the access road is a short climb up through the old estate grounds. It is a brief run and the driver takes you to reception rather than the roadside. If you are landing in the evening, this stretch is unlit, so allow a few minutes more than you would in daylight.

Around Stonefield and Soufriere

The property occupies part of a former plantation estate, and there are Amerindian rock carvings on the grounds that guests can walk to, which is not something the neighbouring resorts can offer. The villas sit among the old cocoa and fruit trees with Petit Piton straight ahead.

There is no beach at the property itself. The nearest sand is a short drive down the hill at Malgretoute, with Sugar Beach a little further south. Soufriere town is around five minutes north for the market, bank, pharmacy and local restaurants.

Because many of the villas have kitchens, the most useful thing we can do on the way in is stop for groceries. Say so when you book and your driver will pull in at a supermarket so you arrive with supplies rather than heading straight back out.

Sulphur Springs, the drive-in volcano, is about ten minutes away, Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens is close to town, and the Tet Paul Nature Trail is a short drive south. The Gros Piton trailhead at Fond Gens Libre is roughly twenty minutes off.

How booking works

1. Pick this transfer, choose the pay-in-cash option, register and submit your details. The flight number field is optional at this stage.
2. You get a confirmation email straight away letting you know we have received the booking.
3. Someone goes through your details and confirms the booking, usually in under 30 minutes, and you get a confirmation email.
4. We assign your driver and ask for the flight number about 24 hours before travel if we do not have it. He meets you at arrivals with your name on a sign, loads the luggage and drives you to the resort, and the cash payment happens once you are there.

I am flying into SLU George Charles Airport. Can you collect me?

Yes. SLU sits just outside Castries, and the fare from there is $120 for the whole vehicle, covering up to three passengers. Yes, and it is worth doing if your villa has a kitchen. Mention it when you book so the driver allows a few minutes for a supermarket stop.

Where is the nearest beach?

Malgretoute, a short drive down the hill, with Sugar Beach a little further along the coast. Neither is a walk from the property.

Can I walk into Soufriere?

It is about five minutes by road, but the return is uphill on a road without a pavement, so most guests use a driver or the resort's transport.

Is the property near the Pitons?

Petit Piton is directly opposite, which is what most of the villas look at. Tet Paul and Sulphur Springs are both short drives from the gate.

What if my flight is late?

We follow the flight and update the driver, so he is there when you land. There is no extra charge and the booking holds.

How do I pay?

Cash to the driver once you reach Stonefield. Nothing is taken online and there is no deposit.
